Trouble with Rilohn Refuge HM
The warriors with Magehunter's Strike and Executioner's Strike always overpower my team. I've tried using an MM, SS, SV, SF + MS, and lots of other things, but though this mission is easy in NM, I can't get it in HM. Then there's the problem with killing the priests, because getting to them is difficult with a team of heroes and henchies, and the mesmers slow down the casters, and the eles do the aoe.
The profession I'm doing this mission with is a monk.
If I have minions I can just make it, but when I get to the waterworks, the Kournan groups are that much harder.
I really don't know what I'm doing wrong. Can anybody please give me some advice as to what you normally do in HM, if you've completed it in HM?

Warrior monsters are easily countered in NM and HM alike. One option is to bring a blindbot ele hero (either Bsurge or double attune + BFlash), another and even better is to spec MoW in curses and give him something like
[Shadow of Fear][Enfeebling Blood][Barbs][Rip Enchantment]
(a great elite to run on him for this mission is PBlock, just put enough points in domination)
Run that in tandem with a MM, and if possible take a BHA ranger as the third hero. Sogolon, Herta, Mhenlo and Kihm and it doesn't matter what's your profession, the herohench shouldn't have any problem in doing the mission for you (micro the BHA to disable monks, though).

I would agree with above, wars are easy to shut down and so are monks if you make builds for it, the builds above should take care of it, ss might be decent cause armor ignoring damage is nice but heros dont drop it well.

if you're a monk, you don't need Mhenlo AND Khim. make sure you take Aegis and take Khim since she also has it. aegis chaining, which AI is relatively good at, will negate most of the melee pressure. then a BHA or Dom mes hench to shut down the eles. lock the interrupter on the ele then proceed to take out the monks first. i usually take a jagged minion bomber with splinter weapon, curses necro, and dom mesmer as my heros in HM. then whichever henchman has Aegis, devona, the other melee hench, and sogolon (when in NF).

I never said that, and it's common sense not to. Though I appreciate your advice on skills, especially the splinter weapon.
@ tmakinen Thank you for the advice, I'll give that a try.

i wasn't saying you did say that. i was pointing out that tmakinen said to take mhenlo and khim. i wasn't sure if he saw that you were a monk, and if you followed his advice you may be handicapping your team with too many healers. BTW: his curses bar is nearly what i would suggest also.

Sorry my misunderstanding, and I should've read the above post more closely anyway.
I used tmakinen's advice on the curses spells, and it did help a lot, but they didn't clump at times and started attacking other party members. I got another party wipe due to this. I still kept the build though.
I'm appauled at how hard I found this, especially after many times of changing to different builds and many tries and failures, and how easy it is to others.
I finally got a build that worked really well, and I cheesed out a bit by using essense of celerity and the grail, and despite being a monk I fitted Pain Inverter on my build and that brought down those guards like a stone in water. I got too frustrated. ><"
Thanks again for the help, I guess I haven't done HM for a while and it's showing :s
